HVG opens state-of-the-art warehouse complex in Melbourne
18/1/2011

Halifax Vogel Group (HVG) today announced the opening of a new state-of-the-art office and warehouse complex in Melbourne for its group of importing and distribution companies.

The 8,000 square metre complex – HVG’s largest in Australia – represents a $7.5 million investment in the future growth of the group in Victoria. Staff from all HVG divisions including SmartStone, Alucobond Architectural and Octanorm Australia have moved into the site at Derrimut in Melbourne’s western suburbs, which replaces premises at Maidstone and Hallam.

The new complex will provide greater space and facilities for the distribution of HVG’s diverse product range, which includes aluminium composite material, graphics media, industrial fabrics, decorative building products, engineered stone and exhibition systems. Bruce Rayment, Chief Executive Officer, HVG said the complex would also bring HVG’s Melbourne-based teams closer together.

“We have operated on two sites in metropolitan Melbourne since August 2007, when Alucobond Architectural and Octanorm Australia were acquired, so the opening of this state-of-the-art office and warehouse complex finally brings all our teams together under one roof in a safe and spacious working environment,” said Mr Rayment. “The new complex will also enable us to increase the inventory we hold in Melbourne and improve the efficiency of our manufacturing leading to improved service levels for our Victorian customers.”

HVG announced its purchase of the 22,500 square metre site, which provides capacity for a further 4,000 square metres of warehouse space to be built in the future, in September 2009.

The group is next preparing to open a $2.5 million office and warehouse complex in Perth. Located at Bibra Lake in Perth’s southern suburbs, the 1,500 square metre facility will become the Western Australian base for all eight HVG divisions, replacing smaller, older premises at Bayswater.
